welcome racefans

Hoskovice, Czech republic, Drag days, June 14-15, 2008.

For the forth year in a row, we went to the small village of Hoskovice, where Yvona Kneblova and Baron MC had organised a 1/4 mile dragrace on the concrete airstrip. A session of free practice was held on friday evening. Herman Jolink always uses every chance he gets, but this time his Ducati would not start. A clogged filter in his fuel pump was found later that night. This probably already held the bike back during last race, where his times went up.

On saturday there were three rounds of qualifications, and Bernd Niessen used his first chance to set a new personal best of 8.2 seconds and remained top qualifier all weekend.

Bernd and his crew chief Gerd Caspari were very supprised with the good grip of the unprepaired concrete blocks. And they enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere of the event. The winner of the last event, Frank Heitmann, was still wearing a big smile on his face.

He qualified number two with an 8.3. In the semi finals Frank even did an 8.2, that gave him lane choice in the finals.

Piet Verhoef had problems with his clutch again. But he managed to repair it and made the call for the quarter finals, where he redlighted against Frank Heitmann.

Criss van Nimmen is the first Belgian rider to come out this year. No V-rod Destroyer for him this year, he is gonna use the ex-Marc Klessens bike called "Mack Attack" this season.

A damaged valve prevented him from showing up for the quarter finals, and Michael Merse benefitted from this, he had a bye run into the semi finals where he lost to Niessen.

Michael Merse had biggest team of all. The Nightriders had one bike in topgas, and three more in the streetbike class, to keep Kaupie, Horst and even Ina busy.

Rianer and Marion Oberle have a motorcycle store, so they can not go to every race in the summer, but they allways go to Hoskovice.

Rainer was sent home by Herman Jolink in the quarter finals. We will probably see him again in Hockenheim.

Herman Jolink qualified number three, and lost to Frank Heitmann in the semi finals. Herman has been working on a new version of his Ducati-RS engine, and he will race it next weekend.

So Niessen and Heitmann in the finals, and you can see the result below.

So Bernd Niessen won the race, and Frank Heitmann is the new leader in the championship.

In the V-rod Destroyer cup, the victory went to our former champion Axel Seifert. He stayed cool where Ulrike Golde could not controle her nerves and redlighted.

Many thanks to all crew inHoskovice, we will be back next year.

Bad news, the race in Switserland is cancelled!

Now it's time to pack and go to Drachten, we waited allmost two years for that!!!
