Welcome to the Euroserie Supertwin Topgas homepage

Congratulations to our 2008 champion

Frank Heitmann, Germany.

welcome racefans

For the 5th time our series includes a race at the Czech Dragdays in Hoskovice.
A small airstrip east of Praque. No preparations were done to the track, but the very special concrete gave a lot of grip, so very good times and speeds were realized. The first one who parked his van in the pits was our former champion Axel Seifert. He didn't come to race, but he and Ines wanted to enjoy the fun and action, they have many good memories of the event.

Niessen

Just like last year, it was bad weather when we arrived. But on saturday it cleared up, still with a strong side wind.
Here you see Frank Heitmann leaning against it.

Heitmann

The sunday was fabulous, an almost tropical day. The crew did everything to make the riders feel at home. Yvona even served us goulash with bread and a beer.

Results were published after each run.

Nine teams were present in our class. Team Glaesner from Denmark made the biggest trip. They even went to Poland to get to the track. So did team Van De Werken, Roland was behind the wheel for 16 hours by himself!

Three rounds were held on saturday, and one more on sunday morning to qualify for an 8-field dragrace.

Frank Heitmann

Niessen and Heitmann went fast "fresh from the trailer" with only a little time difference between them.

quallist

Rasmus Oleson is the new rider on Brian Glaesner's bike. He made a half pass first round to get a feel for the wild bike.
On sunday morning he proved he learned to ride it fast.

Team Knightriders from Bavaria also put a new man on their Buell. Simon "Homer" Hofmann was towed back and forth over the parking a few times to get used to the thing. He made a nice burnout, but the had to shut it off before the start.

But he had some more shots at it, and used them well.

Peter Niklas from Germany is also new to me. He was training this spring in Luckau, and brings a Honda back to our class.

Niklas
Roman Sixta was succesfull with that brand a few years back and our former champ.. It was great to see him again.

Sixtan meets Niklas

He came over for a short visit on sunday and the bald headed man invited Peter Niklas and "team sideburns" over to his house after the race. Roman renewed his topgas membership and will race with us in Hockenheim.

Belgian Marc Vandenboer worked hard on his bike to get it ready for the race.

Vandenboer
He used the track time on saturday to get the new parts in tune.
He jumped to 6th place on sunday, it looks like he's getting it right.
His countryman Ludo Scheepers was less fortunate.

Ludo
His bike suffered fuel problems that he couldn't solve. Let's hope he get's it working next weekend in Drachten, Nl.

Herman Jolink started off with 9.0 sec. and saved his best for his last run.

Jolink

The Ducati lost to another dutch guy with only a 0.019 sec difference at the finish.
Still Herman is happy, he bettered his best top speed on both the 1/8 and 1/4 mile.
it's 214.95 and 256.98 Kmh now.

rasmus

Team Denmark ruled the last qualification round, held on sunday morning! Rasmus Olesen blasted down the track in 7.5 seconds.

Rasmus

A new track record and a class record if he backed it it up!

Rasmus

So here is the final qualification list:

Lunch break, a demo by a jetbike and riders presentation. Then is was time to battle it out! Quarter finals, first pair. The big upset! Rasmus didn't put the bike in first gear.

rasmus niklas

Peter Niklas got lucky and went to the semis.

The boys from Holland met as second pair. Ronald reacted better then Herman, but had to get off the throttle at the top of the track. Herman almost cought him, he failed 0.02 seconds to win.

jolink ronald

Homer Hofmann redlighted, Bernd Niessen advanced.

niessen

Frank Heitmann was one number too big for Marc Vandenboer.

towbikes

After towing and wrenching, the four guys left, came to race the semi finals.

Peter Niklas' Honda stopped after the burnout, so Van De Werken took the bye.

Niessen vs Heitmann could have been a nice close race. But Frank's bike jumped forward as he revved it up. The clutch could not hold the horses and he redlighted.

In the finals Bernd reacted better then Ronald.

Bernd stayed in the lead all the way, 8.259 sec. Ronald goes home with a pb of 8.322 sec. @ 249.79Kmh.

So many congratulations to Bernd Niessen who won it two times in a row now! He jumped on the podiun to get his award. He also jumped to the first place in the championship!

Hoskovice was super, we'll be back next year.

Drachten Dutch Nationals in a few days, check the website for info and entrylist.
