Race #4 in the 2014 Euroserie: Malmö raceway, Sweden's Home of speed.

Also known as the "Per Bengtsson Test Facility"

Weather predictions were excelent and it was sunny and hot all weekend.

Two rounds of qualifications were held on friday evening, and five more rounds on saturday on a well prepaired permanent track over the 1/8 mile.

Seven topgassers were on the online entree list, but a last minute decision of Anders Jensen from Denmark and his team completed a full eight-field.

They were assisted by Swedish Jörgen Lindskog , a former racer and Twin Bike specialist who lives near the track, to take care of the fuel mapping of Anders' supercharged bike. They did not get a time slip of their first run, but they gathered valuable data from the logger, and had another shot at it, just before the track was closed on friday evening.

Team Sideburns was last to arrive, and unloaded quickly. The damage to Christian Bruhn's TurboHonda during the last race was bigger then expected, he prepairs it for the next race (Hockenheim) and used his Ducati 999 that made him Czech Open Moditwin Champion in 2013.

It's was second race for his team mate Peter Nikas on his own Ducati in Top Gas, and he was a little better then Christian during their first attempt.

Olaf Menzi had travelled all the way from Switserland with his new toy and was assisted by the former bike owner and his crew.

Jan Malmberg had a great launch and 60-foot with his twin blower v-twin bike, but he got in trouble shortly after that.

Conny Karlsson from Sweden impressed many people with his beautyful piece of engineering called Beëlzebub! A turbocharged bigtwin in a home made frame.

Impressive, not only by the beautyt, but also by the power it made. But he's not on friday's list, I think he left too soon.

Shifting problems for Schack during his first run. The bike was checked by Johan and Rene, and on saturday morning Schack got on top of the list.

Great launch by Jan Malmberg again and now the first half of his run went very well.

Team B&B of Lars Birch Andersen and Jesse Bohn had taken it easy on friday, enjoying the luxury of a new big tent. A new wheelybar was fitted to the bike and on saturday morning Birch made his first burnout with the 4-valve bigtwin powered dragbike called "Orange Bitch".

A few seconds later, the list looked like this:

Conny Karlsson had been busy working on the bike, and came out in the afternoon to try again, and he got to place #3 in the list.

Malmberg improved about half a second and put the pressure on the defending champion!

Lars Birch Anderssen improved and is close to a "six" now.

In the following round, Jan Malmberg did an awesome pass of 4.95 seconds. a new personal best on 1/8 mile, and taking the lead in the qualifications while team Schack watched it from the grandstand!

Conny Karlsson also improved his time while doing a great top speed!

Anders Jensen improved.

He narrowed the gap with the #1, but stayed in his place.

And Peter Niklas did a little better.

Many friend and family of team Schack had gathered in their new easy-up tent to support. And before the day was done, Frederick did what was needed, and set it straight during the very last round: 4.913 @ 227 Kmh.

The three Danes ended up in the top half of the flow chart, and Peter Niklas had noticed damage to the rear wheel, and was unable to mess with them on sunday. Anders Jensen benefitted from Peter's "no show" in the quarter finals.

Schack had Lars Birch for lunch, but the team of Jesse and Birch was delighted to be the sixes, and celebrated a new personal best of rider and bike and also Birch' birthday. They had gotten help with the clutch, and the airshifter will be added before the next race, then they will probaly celebrate some more.

Menzi had gotten much valuable track time on saturday but did not improve after his first pass. His crew had done so much wrenching to the bike that they had run out of spare parts, so Olaf failed to show up for the race on Sunday so Jan Malmberg got to ride alone in the quarter finals.

Then Conny Karlsson deepstaged and redlighted while Christian Bruhn did a quarter of a second quicker then his best time (set on friday), and became Malmberg's next opponent. He also became the rider of the quickest Ducati of the weekend.

Then a bit more difficulties for Schack with Jensen in the semifinals.

Jensen did his best time of the weekend, while Schack's times were going up.

Malmberg beat Bruhn and even earned lane choise for the finals.

But he lost a push rod at the top end of the track and unable to race the finals.

Two Promod cars had touched each other on saturday, and one caught fire on sunday, so there had already been a few delays.

Then a car damaged the guardrail at the end of the strip and it took a long time to get it repaired before the race could continue.

With no opponent present and the grandstands already empty, Schack put in the minimum effort to win the race, and shut it off after passing the start line.

A decision by the team, to take it easy on the bike and spare it for the next race, the famous NitrOlympX at Hockenheim.

Schack picked up valuable points and extended his lead, while the #2 in the championship, Herman Jolink, was attending the WordDucatiWeek.

Peter Niklas and Christian Bruhn are at place #3 and 4 now, with only a very small difference between them.

Former supertwin top gas dragracer Günther Retsch converted his Ducati dragbike ito a streamliner and took it to salt lake in Bonneville in 2012 to set a world record in his class.

The team has improved the bike last year, and will try to sharpen the record in August 2014.
