Welcome to the Euroserie Supertwin Top gas homepage.

Congratulations to our 2013 and 2014 champion:

Frederik Kirkhoff Schack from Denmark.

welcome racefans

Race #2: Dragster Eurogames at Bechyne airbase in the Czech republik.
Organised by the Predators and the MSTO.

An event for cars and bikes, and our friends the Knightriders put much rubber on the track with their "six seconds" Funny car.

Ten Supertwin Top Gas topgas teams were present. The track was open for practice on friday afternoon, and it was used as usual by Herman Jolink from Holland to make a check-out pass. And it was also used by team B&B from Denmark, to make two runs, with 8.9 on the quartermile as best result. A new personal best, and Birch and Bohn were very optimistic for the next day. Rain and nasty weather stopped the session at half past five. Chris van Nimmen from Belgium was a victim of this. Needing to chech out the gearbox he was lined up when it started dripping. Mats Larsson had driven his big old bus al the way down from Sweden and Jan Malmberg har traveled with him. Mats had constructed a new gearbox last winter, so he started the bike up on fiday afternoon to check if all six gear did engage. Rattling noised followed shaking heads of both Swedish teams were the result. Mats spent the rest of friday and the whole of the saturday wrenching and trying to figure it out.
Jan Malmberg notice a fuel hose leak during warming up the bike and missed the first qualification round while fixing it.

First in line was Milan Kolacny (right lane, below) from Cz, on his supercharged Honda, against Birch for already his third pass of the weekend.

Both riders disapointing with both a 9.5. Then Frank Heitmann against Herman Jolink, much better, and close: 8.69 vs 8.74 seconds.

Frank Heitmann in the lead, top speed for Jolink. Nobody managed to do better that round.

Cord Albers from Germany was assisted by Gerd Caspari and did 8.8 on his new bike.

But it lacked power at top top end. Cord looked worried while checking the data on his laptop.

Two times champion Frederik Schack from Denmark in the left lane qualified #8 with 12 seconds, and Chris van Nimmen (below) with gearbox troubles landed just ahead of Schack on place #7.

Mats Larsson took a break from wrenching wrenching and pushed the starter of Jan Malmberg to the startline for round two.

First pair: Frank Heitmann (Germany) against Olaf Menzi (Switserland), Menzi improved to 9.2.

While Cord Albers spent the rest of the day checking the logged data, the owners of Cord's old bike were in full swing: 8.87 seconds @ 244 KmH for Birch, A new personal best time and speed, and approaching Cord's position in the ranking.

In the left lane Milan Kolacny improved his time.

Herman Jolink (above) had put smaller jets in the carbs of the Ducati, and did 8.6, the best time so far, enough to pass Heitmann and take the lead ranking, while Jan Malmberg had problems starting up the bike.

Then everybody got pushed down one spot by champion Frederik Schack, who took the lead with a great 7.75 @ 276 KmH.

Jan Malmberg gave it another try and made an impressive burnout on his big dual blower bike.

But had to shut it of while dripping fuel at the startline.

Some classes were still in the line-up for their second run as it started to rain and get windy for a while.
But fortunately it dried up and racing continued late in the afternoon.

Birch en Jesse were first in the line-up and and they met Frank Heitmann for their final qualification attempt.

A good one for Birch, 8.764 moving up to the #4 spot, passing Albers. And another personal best time, well done!
Team Schack had skipped the final round and was cheering for him on the grandstand.

Jan Malmbergs last chance to qualify, and he didn't, but managed to make a pass and get on the list as first alternate.

When the sun went down, Herman Jolink And Milan Kolacny tried one more time, but did not improve. Final qualification list:

Meanwhile Albers still looked worried, and Chris van Nimmen had removed the internals of his gearbox to be overhauled at a workshop nearby. By the same engineer who repaired the rear wheel of Chris' bike during the last race.

Early sunday morning, all parts were put in place again and Chris was ready to battle.

Milan Kolacny's morning starting with some wrenching on the rear head, and then they noticed oil from the front exhaust after warm-up.

They fear piston damage, and did not show up for the quarter finals. Neither did Albers, who left early to analyse the problems in his Undertaker Speedshop.

Quarter finals, first pair: Frederik Schack beat van Chris van Nimmen, and stil problems with Chris' gearbox.

Lars Birch followed in Schack's trail with a nice straight pass, and a great new personal best of 8.5 seconds.

His oppenent Malmberg (alternate for Albers) suffered fuel delivery problems, his bike quit half way down the track. Watch it below:

Herman Jolink launched with too many revs and had problems keeping it straight, while Olaf Menzi passed him, half way down the track.

Olaf's best performance in a Euroserie race so far. Loud cheering by team Schack when the win light came on.

Frank Heitmann had a free ride into the semi's as Milan Kolacny did not show up.

Team Schack used the long lunch break for a photoshoot, while Herman Jolink started packing.

The semi finals were a desillusion,
Olaf Menzi left before the timing was activated, and Frank Heitmann followed him.

Both riders got the redlight and were disqualified.

Birch's engine stopped after the burnout, and a restart is not allowed during the eliminations.

So Birch walked away and Frederik Schack had also no opponent in the finals.

So an easy win for team Schack, and in the lead in the 2015 championship!

And a remarkable result by Lars Birch, who almost laughed his head off after the ceremony. He's still on place #3 in the championship, and the difference with the #2, Herman Jolink, is less then two rounds. Check the pointlist.

What else happened?

Frank Heitmann's son Nico qualified last in the 600cc class National Dragster, and managed to win it, well done Nico!

In the Superstreet Bike class we watched a great final round, very close racing between Jeroen van de Belt from Holland (left lane) and German racer Peter Granica, who finished first.

Topgasser Christian Bruhn from Germany had entered the CompetitionBike/Funnybike class with his NOS-assisted Ducati999, after wrecking the engine of his Turbo Honda during last race.

Qualified #9 but in as alternate, and got beaten in the first round. Christian will have a fresh Honda engine ready before the next Euroserie race.

The funnybike class was won by Stefan Hagenstein from Germany (above, right lane), by beating Belgian Luc Raeymakers, who took the lead the Czech open Competion Dragster serie.

Next race will be in the backyard of Schack and Birch, at the permanent 1/8th mile track in Malmö. A third rider from Denmark will join in, Anders Jensen and his Safari Travel team. Also on the list is Bernd Foit from Germany, who recently became a member of the club. And Harry van Schie from Holland who was absent for more then a year. Just to name a few. See you all there.

Many thanks to Big Daddy Jerry Lackey, see you in Hockenheim.
