Race #4 in the 2019 Euroserie: The Nitrolympx, 16 - 18 august,  Hockenheim, Germany.

The first round of qualifications was held on Friday morning.

The two Belgian racers (not competing in the Euroserie this year) were first in line. Chris van Nimmen's bike stopped, shortly after his launch.

Dirk Waterschoot (above, background) stopped the clock after 10.9 seconds.

Then Martin Buehler made a huge burnout.

Buehler was the runner up at the last race, and Martin had also attended the Public Race Days at Hockenheim in the previous weekend. Buehler was again assisted in the pits and at the start line by topgas racer Bernd Foit. The first pass of Martin Bueler was over in 8.18 seconds. A good result to begin with.

The bike of Caspari (above, background) did not sound well, and his result was a poor 13 seconds run.

Carsten "Mecky" Hormann and his wife Sabine had attended all races of the Euroserie so far, and did a personal best at in Norway of 9.2. Mecky's first attempt at Hockenheim resulted in a 9.9.

Still problems for Frederik Schack (above, background), just like at the last race. A poor 11.2 seconds. His dad Rene, later: "Ithink we have a problem with the fuel mapping".

Jan Malberg (below) started off with the same time as his best result at the last race, 8.22 seconds. Jan changed from using two blowers to just one, and made a reinforcement to the blower belt after last race.

Sven Ole Schleichert (above, background) is capable of doing "nine seconds" passes, but started off with 10.6.

Cord Albers (below) is the winner of the last race, and he came to the start wearing new leathers. A great start and first half of tyhe pass, but he ran into trouble, and had to go off throttle at the end.

In the other lane, Andreas Herr needed more then 11 seconds to get to the finish.

Maik Krueger lined up against his brother Tim.

10.1 seconds for Maik, not bad for his first attempt.

Next up was team "Sideburns", with racers Peter Niklas (foreground, below) and Christian Bruhn.

Clutch problems for Peter and a red light. Then drifting towards the center line.
Bruhn's Ducati hesitated at the start line, wasting valuable time.

Chris van Nimmen was given a second chance, so he line up against Joerg Lymant, the reigning champion of the Euroserie. Joerg left the start line with the bike in second gear, so not a great result, but still good for the #1 position after round one.

Chris van Nimmen (background) managed to grab place #5.

Our new member Michael Schmidlin still does not have a race ready Top Gas bike.

Schmidlin competed in the street E.T. class to keep practicing his skills.

A few delays by oil spills followed, and the second qualification round, planned for friday afternoon, was first postponed and later cancelled.

Saturday morning started with rain. It dried up in the afternoon, and the prostock bikes were able to do their third qualification round. But soon after that, it started to rain again, no more racing took place that day.

Peter Niklas used the wet saturday to figure out his clutch.  And decided not to race on sunday.

Sunday was a hot day, and in the afternoon at half past two the topgassers lined up for their 1/8 finals.

Joerg Lymant (below) easily advanced to the quarter finals, and did a great 7.5.

Sven Ole Schleichert (below) took out Dirk Waterschoo tand was happy with his "nine seconds" pass.

A great pass by Jan Malmberg (below) in his run against Christian Bruhn. 7.90 seconds, and into the quarter finals.

8.3 seconds by Frederik Schack (below) was quick enough to beat Chris van Nimmen, but is far below Frederik's usual level.

Martin Buehler (below) got to ride alone, because Niklas did not show up. Still he did not take it easy, in the need for valuable data from the logger.

Faulty spark plugs caused Martin's bike to produce a few loud bangs during the run, with an 8.9 as the result.

Tim and Maik Krueger (below) both did 10.7, but Maik reacted much better then his brother, and advanced.

Team mates Albers and Caspari were the next pair. Not much power in Gerd  Capari's bike, 10.8 seconds.

And a great run by Cord Albers, 7.5!

Hormann's clutch could hot hold the bike, and Mecky did a red light in his run against Andres Herr.

Leaving his wife flabbergasted.

The quarter finals were held at ten minutes past five.

Schleichert's V-rod Destroyer (below) was leaking a few drops of oil after his burnout, and he was told to shut it off. So Joerg Lymant got to ride alone.

A great pass by Lymant, 7.46 seconds and 286 Kmh!

Jan Malmberg (below) and Frederik Schack produced almost identical 8.2's, but Malmberg got beaten at the start line by Frederik Schack, who advanced to meet Joerg Lymant in the semi finals. The low end speed (212 Kmh) of Malmberg indicates the bike lost power at the top end of the track.

Martin Buehler (below) did not take any risks against Maik Krueger. Martin reacted in 0.5 seconds and ran 8.12 seconds, his best time so far, that weekend.

Maik Kruger did a new personal best of 9.92 seconds with his V-rod Destroyer.

Andreas Herr was told to shut it off after his burnout.
Cord Albers got to ride alone, and advanced in 7.6 seconds.

At 18:00 the message came that it was finished, because of the curfew in the permit of the race. Two topas teams were already in the line-up, and went back to the pits. Then the speaker called all finalist into the line-up. The organisation was given an extension to the permit for an extra hour. At 18:30 the four remaining topgassers raced their semi finals.

Joerg Lymant's bike stopped right after the start, and Frederik Schack (above, front) advanced with again an 8.2.

A great pass by Albers, 7.53 and a better reaction then his opponent Buehler, who did 8.9.

The finals were held at 19:00.  Cord Albers reacted better than Schack, and ran the quickest topgas time of the weekend. 7.45 seconds.
A great way to wein the race!

Joerg Lymant scored the bonus points for best top speed (286 Kmh), and still leads the 2019 Euroserie Championship points list, but Cord Albers is close behind him now, after winning twice in a row.
